The implementation of dynamic programming algorithms for looped systems, 1990
Sundaram, Mohana
1990-1999
This thesis deals with a detailed algorithmic description of looped systems of nonserial dynamic programming. Using Pascal-type constructs, the feedforward and feedback looped systems are described as multistage dynamic programming processes. For such problems, the conventional techniques require enormous storage and CPU time due to the demands of dimensionality. This issue is addressed using a special technique in which the need for optimal decision storage is eliminated. To demonstrate the working of the technique the related algorithm is implemented using Pascal.
