In this recording, James Costen interviews Hampton T. McFadden in Louisville, North Carolina. McFadden was born in 1893 in Sumter, South Carolina and went to school at Harbison Institute and Johnson C. Smith University. They talk about the strength of the Presbyterian Church in South Carolina, and where McFadden lived and worked throughout his life. They discuss Drs. Shaw, Goldberg, and Haysworth and the appointments they worked. McFadden gives the highlights of his ministry, including church renovations, salary increases, and starting an education and business center in the church. They further discuss the qualities of some outstanding church members.
