[God Will Lead You] (audio)
Morning Message Albany,
Bishop J. Howard Dell Collection
This recording begins with enthusiastic singing including “Lord Hold My Hand”, interspersed with men and women testifying about their difficulties and asking God for help. A man additionally introduces Matthew 14:22-37, and another man delivers a small sermon about making God real in one’s life. Dell then discusses the verse of the day, and tells the congregation to ask God to show them their own selves, and ask God to show what is lacking in their lives. Using the story of Peter and the ship in turmoil, he stresses that if you ask Jesus, he will show you the way. He uses a personal story of how his father was killed by a lightning strike, and how later in life he saw that was God’s way helping his family move out of a troubled community. He concludes with additional stories of being strong in the face of danger, and to always be kind and not frightened.
