[On Judging] (audio)
Bishop J. Howard Dell Collection
This recording opens with gospel music and testifying. A man reads 2 Peter 3:10-13 and introduces the Jones Avenue COGIC choir that sings “One Day”. Mother Bivens then gives a prayer for young people. Dell then delivers a “read on” message that he believes that with nuclear war and bombs happening today that the last days are near and Jesus will be coming soon. He reads from John 14:1-3 and 2 Peter 1:11 and talks about how people shouldn’t be so hard judging each other. He uses this idea to compare how churches put each other in categories and that holiness churches are always at the bottom but sanctified people should all be seen as equal. An audience member then reads Revelations 7:8-15 and Dell then delivers a fiery call and response about being saved from sin and that one will be saved if they bathe in the blood of the lamb.
