[What is Holiness] (audio)
Bishop J. Howard Dell Collection
This worker’s meeting recording starts with hymn singing and a man delivering invocation. Bishop Solomon is introduces and talks about his fellowship with Dell through the years and how he fights the good fight for God. He further talks about how Dell made it to Memphis and worked his way through the church channels. This is followed by the song “Yield Not to Temptation”, followed by Dell saying how thankful he is that all the churches are working together. He reads excerpts from Hebrews 12 and John 13:11 and introduces his topic, “what is holiness?” He states it is more than just not committing sin, and gives examples of getting closer to God. He talks about splits in the church with gangs starting so-called holiness churches or healing temples, and how that is not the path to holiness. The recording concludes with an enthusiastic call and response on peace and holiness.
