[Beware of the Devil] (audio)
Worker’s Meeting Official Message
Bishop J. Howard Dell Collection
This recording begins with a call for the people to worship and a prayer for the redemption of the people. He introduces Acts 16:16-18 amid two songs, “Yield Not to Temptation”, and Leaning on Everlasting Arms”. Dell welcomes 7th Day Adventist, Pastor E.J. Lewis and prays for the congregation of Columbus. He discusses “read on” preaching in the old days, and talks about the sanctified preacher and the missionary travelling on foot for miles to deliver their powerful message, followed by an exuberant response from the congregation. He then talks about how the devil can trick people, using the example of Paul, Silas, and the slave girl, leading to a call and response about casting out the devil. He calls out preachers who do not tithe and do not manage the church money well. He ends by declaring to cast out the devil and preaching what one believes followed by an enthusiastic prayer.
