[Sunday School Promotion Day] (audio)
Sunday School Promotion
Bishop J. Howard Dell Collection
This recording features Dell introducing Sunday School Promotion Day followed by a choir processional, welcome, and prayer. Some women give brief remarks about how to be a Good Sunday school teacher, and introducing people to the bible. Dell introduces the principal of the Monroe Street School in Albany, M.L. Heard. He talks about his relationship with Dell and recalls how Dell came to him with a girl that needed an education, and how she was accepted and is now very successful. He talks about the benefits of Sunday school in this “new age”, and how it is important to teach morals and to keep God in their lives. He further mentions how Sunday school is needed to help with the temptations of the world, and how it gives children a chance at fellowship in good company and that he has seen it beneficial in his experience as an educator.
