[Shady Grove COGIC] (audio)
Bishop J. Howard Dell Collection
This recording begins with singing and Dell announcing the session is taking place at the Shady Grove COGIC church. This is followed by prayer, with men testifying about God’s grace and praying for the church. Dell then mentions about stepping in for Elder F.W. Rhodes after he died, and talks about being a leader in the north Georgia COCIC – where he learned to be a leader. He announces he will be on TV, and notes that his popularity means that God is blessing the church. He speaks about the current time, and how he is now “Black” and not “Negro”, even speaking at an integrated meeting. Lastly, a woman testifies about the church and knocking on doors to spread the word of God.
