Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how adolescents are affected by the AIDS epidemic. The study yields qualitative data on the adolescents knowledge about AIDS and their sexual behavior and attitudes in the face of the disease. An exploratory descriptive research design was used for this study; eighteen college students and twelve high school students were randomly selected to respond to a questionnaire that assessed knowledge, behavior and attitudes about AIDS.

The study found that although the respondents know what risky behaviors are, but they still choose to have sex without the consistent use of condoms.
