This video recording, dated July 1, 1979, documents a demonstration of mathematics class utilizing the teaching approach of Project Seed, a non-profit founded by teacher William F. Johntz in Berkeley, California. The video includes an entire fifth-grade mathematics class, based on Socratic questions and with a focus on abstract mathematical concepts. Following the demonstration, Johntz speaks to the audience about the history and experience of Project Seed.
